History |
Our history spans over four years, many people would have never believed we would make it this far. Our creation is really quite interesting, one small spark led to what still stands to this day.
March 19, 2001 is the day that it all began. Our history lies with another group that I choose to oppose throughout the height of their popularity. A group named TDIR had emerged with the creation of a groundbreaking Total Conversion Mod for the game Jedi Knight. Every now and then I would stop by to see the progress they were making. As their popularity continued to rise I began to notice how (in my opinion) the moderators of their forums were abusive in their power and towards their own fans.
While I realized they had a job to perform and at times the fans could be rather repetitive in asking questions, I felt they could have been treated with a little more respect. But eventually even the fans became oblivious to themselves; the fans would suck up and praise the same people who mistreated them. I took it upon myself to speak out against them and mock the current situation. My second post on their forums resulted in me being banned as my statements upset the TDIR Staff.
At the same time, my statements brought people who agreed with me and would assist in creating what still stands today. Two people by the names of Nerv_Vegeta and ENA_Akuma would become the first members of the group; we realized that if we were going to make any effort against them, we would have to go one step further. Seeing as how speaking our minds of their forum would get us banned, I created a small EZ-Board forum as a home base for us. We named our small faction Anti-TDIR, as soon as the forum was up ENA_Akuma informed the people of TDIR and from there the battle began.
The Anti-TDIR Era
After being made aware of our presence, TDIR Staff members as well as fans began showing up at my forums. While many despised what we chose to do, our goal was bring freedom of speech to TDIR, the ability for everyone to speak their minds. As the conflict continued I became quite amused with it, so I continued speaking out against TDIR as well as breaking many of their rules. It brought about some funny incidents while at the same time got their attention.
The conflicts between the TDIR Staff and myself eventually settled down, although I would still say what was on my mind when I found it necessary. I found a way to do what I thought was necessary without getting myself banned, mainly by simply mocking the TDIR Staff. I stayed active on their forums and basically everyone knew who I was. Some liked me while others hated me, eventually it would all balance out. But even though things began to settle down, the tension remained between us.
My team eventually began to come to a halt, the forum activity slowed down as I kept my main focus on staying active on their forums. Then came the mysterious disappearance of ENA_Akuma, I still do not know to this day what happened to him. But if he’s still out there, I want him to know he still has a place here. Along with that Nerv_Vegeta also became inactive, as he had things of his own to deal with. From there the future was quite uncertain, but an odd event would change of all that, matter of fact it would change everything.
Although the conflict had not ended, my aggressiveness towards TDIR had eased. I was becoming more known for other antics, but would still make my point when there was an occurrence. For a while I basically held my own, while Nerv_Vegeta was still around at times to back me up. Then the unexpected happened, two people came to my forums that I knew did not agree with what I was doing. The first was Nsinger, someone I had seen around and argued with a couple of times, but this time he approached me for a completely different reason. The other was CE_Vegetalord, who I remembered spamming my board when it first went up.
The pair began to hang around my board quite often and as weeks passed we all got to know each other a little better. They had attempted to fit in around the TDIR community but eventually faced rejection from the fans as well as the TDIR Staff. Seeing as how they were basically in the same boat as me, I hired them on as moderators. For a while we simply went with the flow and every now and then a conflict would arise, but somewhere down the line my goal changed. I no longer wanted to take down TDIR, but instead follow what I had basically been doing the whole time, fighting for freedom of speech.
As the goal had changed, we knew that the name would have to change. We needed something to set us apart from others and bring originality to the group as well. Discussion went on for nearly a week and then the idea came to me. We would be called Outlaw Inc., to represent that we stood outside the law but now in a professional manner. The forums were enhanced as we expanded from one forum to many, working to build a community. Once again, this would only be the beginning for what would still be a long road ahead.
The New Era>
With our new name and new members, we sought to expand and further our goal of equality within the TDIR community. Their community continued to flourish as progress continued of their highly anticipated project continued, yet at times some fans were still finding themselves mistreated.
In my eyes, at times the TDIR Staff began to take their fans for granted. Yet without them their hard work would never recieve the any appreciation nor recognition it deserved.
