I have not yet seen the movie, but so far it has been torn apart by both critics and fans of the series. In a trend of horror remakes, I don't know if this series exactly needed the revamp. Respectively I like Halloween and Friday the 13th, but Freddy Krueger was different because of the dementedness placed in him by Robert Englund. He wasn't the quick killer like the others, he taunted, talked trash and played with his victims before slashing them up.

Like anything I'll have to see for myself, but so far the fans have spoken pretty loudly about their disappointment.
